I’m a recent escapee from forced creativity. And
I never would have known I was a photographer
or a designer if I hadn’t quit my job and gone for a
walk. I credit Vancouver, to an atomic and botanic level, for
helping me become what I mean to be—a creator of beautiful things
that people will covet and cherish.
And I can’t stop creating. I’ve got an idea for Kits Beach Mirrors:
Weird-shaped, hand-gilded, and embellished with gold-dipped
sea shells [collection III, if I can crack the secret of
lucite]. And a Vancouver kimono—my images printed on silk
and mixed with other gorgeous fabrics and sewn into something
you’ll have on your body every chance you get.
Time travellers can catch Fertile in
The Forbidden City and on the 3rd
floor of the SpaceStation Omega. ; >
In between collections I’d like to design and distribute
a new line of postcards for Vancouver [summer 07].
I’d also love to see my images on banners all over this luscious
city of ours. And if a girl can dream, during the Olympics would
be nice. And someday soon, I want a little shop of my own—floating off Granville
Island on a glass houseboat.
If you can help with any of this, please do call.
Lysa Bromaroff creator
of objects of art and opportunities
Local interior design firms have known about Lysa and her
strange botanicals for a few years now. Her images grace spaces from California to Connecticut—with boutique hotels being especially fond.
